1The position today
This website sets no cookies. It does not store information on your device and does not read information already stored there: no analytics identifiers, no tracking pixels, no device fingerprinting, no advertising tags. Fonts and scripts are served from our own domain, so loading a page calls no third party. Because nothing is stored, no consent banner is needed and none is shown.
2The law
Regulation 6 of the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003 restricts storing information on a visitor's device, or gaining access to information already stored there, unless the visitor is given clear information about the technology and gives prior consent, or a statutory exception applies. The Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 amended those regulations, and a new Schedule A1 now sets out the exceptions; the Information Commissioner's Office finalised updated guidance on storage and access technologies in April 2026.
These rules cover more than cookies: local storage, pixels, fingerprinting and embedded scripts all fall within them, which is why the statement above is written that broadly.
3If this changes
If we ever introduce a technology that stores or reads information on your device, the order of events is fixed. Anything that is not strictly necessary will not run until you have been told what it is and what it does, and have agreed. Refusing will be as easy as agreeing, and continuing to browse will not be treated as agreement. This page will be updated first — naming each technology, its purpose and its lifetime — before any of it takes effect.
